Dude. Come on. It’s overkill at this point.
Variety reports today:
Planet Hollywood topper Robert Earl has made his first venture into producing features, signing on as a co-producer for Nu Image/Millennium’s “The Expendables,” starring Sylvester Stallone, Jason Statham and Jet Li.
One cool thing about this story:
Earl is co-owner of the Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino in Las Vegas, site of the premiere for gambling thriller “21″ earlier this year. In 1991, he founded Planet Hollywood, which operates in such locations as New York’s Times Square, Orlando, Tokyo and London.
So yeah. The guy worked his relationship with Stallone from the restaurants and is now a movie producer. Nice. I know what you’re thinking, but no. Because just think, he could have worked the other relationship and ended up working in California State government.
So this is actually not a bad project…right?
Principal photography on “The Expendables” will start in February in Brazil and Louisiana with Stallone directing from his own script about a team of mercenaries aiming to infiltrate a South American country and overthrow its dictator.
Okay so when Stallone comes into your office in Hollywood, the first thing what comes out of his mouth is a Rambo sequel, you’re saying? It’s like Stallone has like nothing but A-Team episodes and Tom Berenger movies on his iPod. All that’s missing from this cast is Carl Weathers. Oops. Sorry.
The crazy thing is, because of Jet Li and JS being involved, they’ve already sold one DVD. To me.
