“Absolutely Fabulous” ran for 36 episodes in the U.K., and has developed a cult following in the US via regular airings through the years on outlets including BBC America, Comedy Central, and PBS. Fox has ordered a pilot of an Americanizes remake. This remake, set in Los Angeles, is based on the original, which revolved around the adventures of fashion publicist Edina and editor Patsy, both of whom face off with Edina’s square daughter, Saffron.
Jennifer Saunders wrote and starred in the original, and serves as executive producer on the U.S. version.
