When Fox Searchlight picked this film up from Sundance, it was clear that they’d picked up something special. Not an obvious hit, but a unique romance with interesting characters. We may be talking about this film come awards time.
“Adam” is the story of a young man, Adam, played by Hugh Dancy, who lives with Asperger’s Syndrome. He is doing his best to reach out to his new upstairs neighbor, Beth (Rose Byrne). Adam has immersed himself into an obsession with space exploration and astronomy and finds it difficult to communicate with people, which makes the journey of this developing romance an interesting story.
