There are a lot of science fiction movies coming out this year. Sony Pictures Classics has one of the best. It is, in our opinion, the most visually stunning. The attention to detail in this film is incredible. This film’s respect for science is commendable. “Moon” is, stylistically, a revival of great science fiction storytelling. It is horrifying at times without gore, it is awesome without overkill, it is quiet without being boring. It’s a great story with some great stories in the background. It’s a film you totally have to see twice, and we can’t wait to get that opportunity. It is already on our list as one of the best science fiction films of the decade.
Director Duncan Jones tells a story that you totally don’t see coming. A story of confronting yourself, quite literally.
This film stuck with us for a long time at Sundance. If you missed it there, and you missed it at South By South West, on June 12, you’ll have a chance to see it for yourself. For now, here’s the official trailer.
Also, from the great folks at FilmCatcher.com, one of our favorite websites, here’s a conversation with Duncan and Sam Rockwell.
Great trailer, but the interview really makes me want to see this. Sam Rockwell is a very underrated actor. Too bad they don't give Oscars for sci-fi movies…this looks really good. Thank you for keeping us up on the great science fiction!
