BET is in talks to order a new season of “The Game”, the comedy spinoff of “Girlfriends.” The show, created by Mara Brock Akil, ran for three seasons on The CW network before being canceled in May. An hourlong version of the show was pitched but not accepted.
Just after it was canceled, BET talked with CBS Studios, who produces the show, about possibly taking in the series, but with new original episodes. They are currently running reruns of the series.
According to The Holywood Reporter, the contracts on the show’s actors are up, so if a deal is reached with BET, new deals with the actors would be needed.
