Stargate Universe – this “SyFy” thing might work out after all

There are no cooking shows on ESPN. But there is wrestling and horror on the Sci-Fi Channel. So it’s been taking a beating from critics on its original programming and prime time show choices. So when the Sci-Fi Channel announced they were rebranding themselves “SyFy”, we were skeptical to say the least. We’ve lived with the Stargate Universe trailer for a little while, and we’ve deiced to give this show a shot. Looks like everything that we didn’t like about how the last couple of Stargate shows ended has been fixed!

syfyStargate Universe is a military science fiction television series, part of the Stargate franchise, which will make its debut on SyFy in October. Seems like just yesterday we were reading about the casting of this show and now, here it is, just about ready.

The show follows the adventures of a present-day, multinational exploration team on board the Ancient spaceship Destiny. Transported to Destiny in a distant corner of the universe and unable to return to Earth, members of the team are forced to remain on the vessel and fend for themselves. The announced main cast is Robert Carlyle as Dr. Nicholas Rush, Justin Louis as Colonel Everett Young, David Blue as Eli Wallace, Brian J. Smith as Lieutenant Matthew Scott, Jamil Walker Smith as Master Sergeant Ronald Greer, Alaina Huffman as Lieutenant Tamara Johansen, and Elyse Levesque as Chloe Armstrong.
