“Defendor”, “A Single Man”, and “Valhalla Rising” picked up at Toronto!

It looks like The Sony Pictures Worldwide Acquisitions Group is in final negotiations to pick up “Defendor,” which premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival this week.

“Defendor” , directed by Peter Stebbings, stars Woody Harrelson as a man who is under the delusion that he is a superhero, his psychiatrist, played by Sandrah Oh, and the teenager he befriends.

The film is is being released by Alliance in Canada, so Sony would be getting worldwide rights.

But there are other deals going on!


The Weinstein Company, bouncing back with Quentin Tarantino‘s latest, bought “A Single Man“, the film debut of Tom Ford, former creative director at Gucci. “A Single Man” stars Colin Firth, Julianne Moore, Matthew Goode, Nicholas Hoult, Ginnifer Goodwin and Paulette Lamori.

THIS TRAILER CONTAINS BLOOD AND NUDITY.

IFC is buying “Valhalla Rising”, directed by Nicholas Refn and starring Mads Mikkelsen, Jamie Sives, and Gary Lewis.
