Nelson George’s short film “What Would Richard Wright Think?”

Here’s a short film shot and narrated by Nelson George, Author, Director, and Producer. One of Nelson’s latest productions is “Good Hair”, featuring Chris Rock, which made its debut at Sundance and will be seen everywhere in October.

This video was shot primarily in Paris around New Year’s Eve 2000. It is a homage to one of my Fort Greene literary heroes, Richard Wright, who lived the last part of his life in the City of Light. Images from Paris streets and French tv suggest the racial tensions of a city that would explode later in the decade. The model Zofia and I narrate.
