Okay let’s just get this out of the way now. This movie is going to be complete nonsense. Less than 1% science. From what has been shown so far, this is a great roller coaster ride that should be great fun that will stick with us all for lots of conversations straight through to New Year’s. And that’s it. Holding this film up to some art house standard is just silly. It’s rated PG-13, and director Roland Emmerich blows stuff up like not too many others. He’s obviously obsessed with the environment, and makes really heavy-handed “better take care of the Earth and listen to the scientists telling you the truth” statements with his films.
