Set in Atlanta, Georgia, “Grapes on a Vine” tells the story of Kyle Hanson (Dwayne Boyd), an accomplished professional who seems to have
everything- a gorgeous wife, beautiful home, and is the art director of the High Museum of Art. Kyle seems happy but two things hang out of his reach. Kyle and his wife, Brandy, cannot have children and he can’t seem to get his hands on a Vincent van Gogh painting he
set his eyes on years ago. His impatience and arrogance motivates his desire to quench his thirst to have everything he wants. Later, he plans a couple’s camping retreat to the Georgia Mountains set to get rid of his wife in order to benefit from a $500,000 insurance policy. He hires two European hit-men to murder then lynch his wife to make the crime appear racially motivated. He can almost taste victory until his plans go sour.
It’s directed by Al “Skip” Robbins, and produced by Bottom of the Net Filmworks, an Atlanta based film company established in 1997. Bottom of the Net has two feature scripts written by Robbins: ”Graduation Day” and “The Deliberation,” which are being considered for production by investors. Bottom of the Net will shoot their next feature film in summer 2010 from an untitled script also written by Robbins. Sharlene Falls will produce the project. They also have completed the pilot script for a cable series titled “Adjusters”.
