[Independent] Three and A Half Thoughts by Khary Jones

After a disastrous date with his childhood friend and would-be girlfriend, Red Caldwell decides to escape his miseries by smoking a joint. Red is swiftly carried away from the painful memories of the evening but soon learns that escapism is not without its consequences.

Adapted from Chester Himes’s early short story “Marihuana and a Pistol” [sic].
