NEW YORK – Indie web films to be shown on TIMES SQUARE JUMBOTRON SCREENS tonight!

A FREE SCREENING of the WINNING VIDEOS in the Metropolis Art Prize 2009 will take place in TIMES SQUARE, New York from 7 to 8pm tonight, December 17.

These are independent films made for internet distribution to desktop and wireless. So this will be a once in a lifetime opportunity to see these films on the largest screens in town!

They’ll be taking over three of the Jumbotron Monitors and displaying the winners, the runners up, plus two special mentions.

If you’re in New York, bundle up and head on over to Times Square at Duffy Square, 47th and Broadway, adjacent to the TKTS Booth. Screens featuring the art videos will include:

Fox News Corp (43rd St. and Broadway),
The MTV Building (Broadway between 46th and 47th Sts.), and
Clear Channel / CNN (47th St. and 7th Ave).

Isabella Rossellini will lead the proceedings – and will also premiere her latest video collaboration with Guy Maddin, “Send Me to the ‘Lectric Chair”.

Isabella spoke on Morning Joe on MSNBC about the screenings tonight. Check it out in her own words!
